The GY-906 MLX90614 is a highly accurate non-contact infrared temperature sensor module capable of measuring object temperatures without direct physical contact. Based on the advanced MLX90614 infrared thermometer sensor , the module detects infrared energy emitted from objects and converts it into precise temperature readings. The sensor communicates using the I2C/SMBus interface , allowing easy integration with microcontrollers such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, STM32, and other embedded platforms. It supports both 3.3V and 5V operation , making it highly versatile for various electronic projects. The module features multiple operating modes including PWM output mode and thermal switch mode , enabling advanced temperature monitoring and automation applications. In PWM mode, the sensor outputs a continuous 10-bit PWM signal proportional to the detected temperature. In thermal switch mode, it can trigger external devices such as relays or alarms when a preset temperature threshold is reached. Its non-contact design makes it especially suitable for measuring moving objects, hot surfaces, hazardous materials, or hard-to-reach targets.
