The RDM6300 125KHz RFID Reader Module is a popular and reliable mini-module designed for reading codes from 125KHz / 134.2KHz compatible read-only tags. Built around an advanced RF receiving circuit and an embedded MCU , the module uses a high-efficiency decoding algorithm to capture data from EM4100 and all compatible cards quickly and accurately. The module is extremely easy to use : simply connect its serial port to your Arduino or any microcontroller. Once powered up, whenever an RFID card enters the reading range, the module automatically sends the unique card ID to the host MCU via UART . This makes it ideal for hobbyists, students, and developers building DIY access control or identification projects . You can pair this module with a relay shield on your Arduino to build a simple but effective door keeper / electronic lock system , or integrate it into larger applications such as attendance tracking, asset management, and personal identification systems . Specifications Model: RDM6300 (HW-205 v4.2) Operating Frequency: 125KHz Supported Cards: EM4100, TK4100, EM4102, EM4200 or compatible read-only tags Communication Interface: TTL / RS232 / UART Baud Rate: 9600bps Power Supply: 5V DC Current Consumption: < 50mA Reading Range: 20mm to 50mm Coil Dimensions: 46 x 35 x 3 mm Board Dimensions: 38.5 x 19 x 9 mm Operating Temperature: -10°C to +70°C Storage Temperature: -20°C to +80°C Humidity: 0% to 95% Applications Access Control Systems — office, home, and warehouse door entry Attendance & Time Tracking — schools, gyms, and workplaces Personal Identification — employee or student ID verification Anti-Forgery Systems — verifying authenticity of products or documents Asset & Inventory Management — tagging and tracking equipment Hotel Room & Locker Access — keyless entry solutions Interactive Toys & Educational Kits — RFID-triggered actions and games Production & Manufacturing Control — tracking items along assembly lines DIY Arduino Projects — smart locks, automated drawers, and IoT prototypes Library & Membership Systems — quick check-in/check-out
